BE Course Preparation Tips:

To get into the top engineering colleges, candidates should start their preparation as early as possible. Most of the entrance exams will have both 11 and 12th CBSE portions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Some of the university entrance exams will also have a section for the English language to check the verbal knowledge of the candidates. The amount of question difficulties differs from exam to exam. For example, for JEE Main exam not just proper knowledge of theoretical concepts of NCERT books, one should know to implement it in different scenario problems. Some of the useful tips to crack BE entrance exams are listed below:

A clear understanding of the exam pattern: Before one begins with the planning, he/she must have proper knowledge of the particular entrance exam pattern. Like even though most of the entrance exams have subjects of 11 and 12th, the percentage of questions taken from these two years differs from exam to exam. So, one must be clear with the entrance exam pattern which one wants to work.

Problem-solving: Implementing theoretical knowledge in a mathematical way or logical way is very much an essential skill needed to crack most of the entrance exams. So to get these skills, one must not just rely upon the syllabus books. Instead, he/she must refer to problem-related books and grasp the concept in a problematical way.

Time management: With one wrong answer there will be a huge variation in the ranking score. So, it is very much essential to attempt all the questions with the highest probability of the right option given. Which can only be possible with regular practice and hard work.

BE (Bachelor of Engineering) Eligibility:

The basic eligibility criteria for pursuing a BE course is qualifying 10+2 or equivalent examination, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a reasonably high percentage of marks. Clearing the different national and state level entrance exams such as Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test [BITSAT], Vellore Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Exam [VITJEE] etc conducted by different universities and colleges across the country. A Joint Entrance Exam Mains [JEE Main] is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in the country.

An examination is also conducted by the Associate Membership of the Institute of Engineers [AMIE], which enables working people in the private/public sector and diploma holders to acquire a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering through distance education. The degree awarded is considered equivalent to a regular BE degree.

BE Admission:

Admission Procedure - Bachelor of EngineeringAdmissions for BE course is mainly based on the entrance exams conducted by both central and state government. Some of the reputed universities have their individual entrance exams to get admission to the respective universities. The selection of the specialisation in BE is purely based on ranking. Even though the JEE score is for IIT's, most of the BE institutes will give admission if the candidates have really good marks.

Few of the colleges give admission through merit-based. So, students need to score a minimum of 85% above to get merit. Which varies from universities standards. However, for government institutes or to get a government quota, one should go through entrance exams conducted by national and state governments.
